• A local resource centre is looking for help in the Dementia Day Care Centre with organising activities etc.
• A local community centre is looking for help with their toddler group on Friday mornings to prepare teas, coffees, fruit and biscuits and wash up afterwards.
• Do you want to be a major part of one of the UK’s most successful fundraising events – World’s Biggest Coffee Morning? One month’s internship over the three months 5 July – 8 October 2010. Travel expenses will be met.
• An organisation helping people to recover from strokes is looking to recruit volunteers to help run weekly communication groups and offer supported exercise to stroke survivors who have communication difficulties.
• The motor neurone disease association is looking for volunteers to support meetings and committee meetings and make phone calls etc. Other opportunities include fundraisers, events organisers, and a vice chair.
• A local organisation needs help serving meals on Tuesdays 11.45am -2pm; putting ready made meals in the oven, serving them to visually impaired clients and clearing up afterwards.
• A busy organisation is looking for an administrator for 6/9 hours a week. The job involves manning reception, filing, and using computer. Flexible working times are available.
• ‘Home from Hospital’ is looking for volunteers to fit pendant alarms – especially in rural areas. Training will be given and travelling expenses paid. Befriending volunteers are also needed.
• If a neighbour asks for help would you say yes? Are you a car owner with some time to spare? The W.R.V.S is looking to recruit car owners to help older people reach vital services. Travelling expenses will be paid.
• Could you help the disabled and elderly? They need help with their shopping on a regular basis. Training will be given and travelling expenses will be met.
• Do you have good communication skills and enjoy helping others? Buddies needed to support volunteers with a range of disabilities. Full training given. Call Penny on number below.
