Supported Shopping

Our Supported Shopping Scheme provides help for elderly people, transporting them door to door on a weekly basis to and from a local supermarket and helping with unloading of their shopping. . If you, or someone you know, are elderly and finding it difficult to get to and from the supermarket then call us for more details and a chat and we will see how we can help.

All our drivers and escorts are registered volunteers.


Supported Shopping Volunteers Wanted

How often do you go food shopping? Once, twice a week maybe? Perhaps more? You choose the time to go and the day. It’s great to have that flexibility isn’t it? That choice. That Independence.

Now imagine not being able to go food shopping because you -
  • Don’t have a car
  • Can’t use public transport
  • Can’t physically carry the shopping to your home
  • Need a helping hand
  • Have no family members who are able to help
  • Have just come out of hospital
There are many elderly people who are unable to do their own shopping because of these reasons and would welcome a helping hand. We would like to be able to offer this service to as many people as possible and we can only do it with your help. A few hours of your time could ensure an elderly person remains independent and living in his or her own home.
Choose to give your time, so people can keep their independence.
