Supported Volunteering 26yrs+
We are in our second year of funding of our Supported Volunteering project.
As an organisation committed to volunteering we aim to:
- Make Volunteering achievable and accessible to people with disabilities and mental health issues
- Provide a six week 'friday group' volunteering placement to develop skills prior to signposting to a new volunteering opportunity
- Build the confidence of people with disabilities and mental health issues. To help bridge the gap between volunteering and further training courses and employment
- Find new and interesting placements for volunteers and assist organisations with good practice to enable them to accept and support volunteers with disabilities
- Enable all our volunteers to gain the benefits of volunteering e.g socialising, confidence boosting, improved skills, health benefits, etc.
So if you, or anyone you know, has a disability, whether physical, learning or mental health, do please contact us about the benefits of volunteering. Contact Penny and Gail on 01905 24741 or email: penny@wvc.org.uk or gail@wvc.org.uk
